Pioneer League is our answer to the rising cost to play Magic: the Gathering. Not every player wants to play the newest, most epensive cards. Some players just want to spend a chill afternoon playing the game they live at a table with friends. This is for those players.
Pioneer is Vietnam’s favorite non-rotating format. While Standard is about the prowess of the individual, Pioneer is about the strength of the community. It is uniquely Vietnamese in spirit.
We chose League prizing because it let’s us keep the game accessible and casual: Players just have to buy a drink at the cafe we play at. There are some weekly prizes. And players also earn points each week which add up for additonal trophies and prizing at the end of the League season.
